The Life of MARGARET ELAINE ANDERSON

Margaret Elaine Anderson, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center. Margaret was born July 4, 1931, in Des Moines, to James and Faye (Gustine) Anderson. She graduated from North High School in 1950 and attended A.I.B. College of Business. Margaret was a secretary for the U.S. Government for 40 years, retiring in 1994. She attended Grace Methodist Church and Arthur Murray Dance. Margaret loved art, music, nature, travel and gardening. She was an outdoor person and an avid Hawkeye fan. Margaret will be lovingly missed by four nieces; four nephews; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Anderson; sisters, Gwendolyn Osborn and Flora Cox; and nephews, Mark Cox and James Anderson, Jr. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with a memorial service at 12 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.
