The Life of MARION FRANCIS MAPLE
Marion Francis Maple, 83, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Beaverdale Estates in Des Moines. He was born August 8, 1928, in Des Moines, to William and Lillian (Legen) Maple.
He married Darlene Davis in 1950. Marion served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1947. Marion was a retired truck driver and a member of the Local Teamster’s Union. He was also a member of the Nazarene Church in Des Moines for many years. Marion enjoyed garage sales and antiquing.
Marion is survived by his daughters, Susan (David) Ault and Cheryl (Ed) Messina; two grandchildren, Becky Lehman and Melissa Skornia, as well as five great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with graveside services being held at 1 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be given to Iowa Health Hospice in loving memory of Marion Maple.
