The Life of Robert A. Sr. Cann

Robert A. Cann Sr., age 88 and a lifelong Valley resident in Seymour, passed away March 18. He was born in Derby December 19, 1923, son the late Donald & Ethel Star branch Cann. Robert attended Derby schools and was a member of The Eagle Scouts Troop 3 in Derby. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ansonia and was a member of the former George Washington Masonic Lodge. Robert worked as a mechanical engineer for Farrel Corp. in Ansonia. He is survived by his son Robert Cann Jr. of Terryville, his daughter Nancy Silva of North Haven, his brother Donald Cann of Seymour, and five grand and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia. A Funeral service and celebration of the life of Robert Cann will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. from The Jenkins King &Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT (jenkinskingfh.com) with Dr. John Hinson, Pastor of The First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The First Baptist Church, 235 Prindle Ave. Ansonia, CT. or The CT Hospice of Branford.
