The Life of Dennis George Kramer

Command Sergeant Major Dennis G. Kramer, Pennsylvania Army National Guard (Ret.), 61, of Richmond Township, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathy J. (Steele) Kramer. They were married June 28, 1969.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of Louise E. (Siegfried) Kramer, currently residing with Dennis and Kathy, and the late George D. Kramer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He was a member of the Horace M. Keiffer, Post #625 American Legion, Fleetwood, and the W.O.O.F. Pack.

A 1968 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, he then worked for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyon Station from 1968-1977. Mr. Kramer then became a Military Personnel Technician with the Pennsylvania National Guard, working for the United States Government at Fort Indiantown Gap for thirty years, retiring August 31, 2010.

Prior to and concurrently with his duties as Military Personnel Technician, Dennis served 41 years with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. In October of 1988, CSM Kramer was assigned as the Command Sergeant Major of the 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry, where he served until December, 1991. In December, 1991, he was assigned to HHC 56th Brigade, where he served as the Brigade Command Sergeant Major until November 1994. In 1994, he was reassigned to Headquarters State Area Command where he served as the Senior Administrative NCO for the Post Mobilization Division. Dennis was an avid Phillies fan, loved dogs, and avid bicyclist, enjoyed landscaping, NASCAR and camping.

He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Amanda L. (Kramer) wife of Major Harry R. Lupold, U.S. Army (Fort Bragg) Pinebluff, NC, Amelia R. (Kramer) Reppert, Wyomissing; Brother, James D. Kramer, companion of Roberta A. Bronson, Allentown; 4 Grandchildren, Megan N. Lupold, Harrison D. Lupold, Collin A. Reppert and Carson D. Reppert. He was pre-deceased by a Brother, Perry J. Kramer in 2003.

Funeral Services are Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 West Main Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment, with military honors in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA.

The family requests contributions be made to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
