The Life of Mary Louise Garfield

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard for Mary Louise Garfield, 90, who passed away on March 21, 2012 at 3:22 pm at Camelot of Broussard. Reverend Stephen Fife, Associate Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Garfield, a resident of Broussard, LA, was the daughter of the late Rodolph Thibodeaux of St. Martin Parish, Louisiana and the former Alta Melancon of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She is survived by three daughters, Gail Deisze of Sugarland, TX, Kathleen Judice and husband Steven of Baton Rouge, LA and Michele Newman of Lafayette, LA; ten grandchildren, Caroline Stone, Rachelle Zapata, Kathrine Deisze, Amanda Edwards, Minette Guidry, Elizabeth and Grace Judice, Garrett, Emmett, and Wyatt Newman; seven great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews and her friends at La Belle Maison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell F. "Gary" Garfield; one son, Gary Louis Garfield; one son in law, Carl Deisze; one sister, Audrey Cater Halley; three brothers, Rudy, Harold and James Thibodeaux and her niece Connie Cobb. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of services. Pallbearers will be Garrett Newman, Emmett Newman, Wyatt Newman, Moises Zapata, Michael Edwards and David Guidry. Delhomme Funeral Home, 111 North Washington Street, Broussard, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
