The Life of Violet L Globun
VIOLET (KERR) GLOBUN NORTH LIMA - There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman with Pastor Michael Zabel celebrating for Violet (Kerr) Globun, 91, who passed away Saturday evening, March 17. Violet was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Youngstown, the daughter of Lester and Anna (Litsinger) Kerr. She was a homemaker. Besides her husband of 72 years, Peter P. Globun, whom she married Nov. 7, 1939, she leaves to be lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren, Michele (Robert) Riley of Kansas City, Mo., Mark (Jill) Gurgos of McHenry, Ill., and Paul (Laura) Gurgos of Bartlett, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Anna, Rachel, and Luke; her son-in-law, Robert Gurgos of St. Charles, Ill.; three sisters, Kathryn (Ron) Ward of Mansfield, Iris Kerakios, and Lily Globun of Tennessee; and 22 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Gurgos; two sisters, Daisy Weygant and Rosemary Wakefield; and two brothers, David and Paul Kerr. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
