The Life of Roy Davis

DAVIS ROY DAVIS, age 91, formerly of Madison, OH, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Willoughby, OH. Born September 6, 1920 in Cincinnati, OH to Ethel (nee Brown) and Frank Davis; he married Dolores "Dodie" Allen on October 26, 1940 in Milford, OH. He was a Army Veteran of World War II. He graduated from Law School and was a patent attorney. He was known for his bow ties, pipe and inscrutable smile. He was a devoted husband for 58 years, an avid reader, an Indy car enthusiast and a former member of the Madison Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, raising prototype roses, traveling and doing puzzles. Survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Zimmerman; nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Davis and parents. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026. Officiating will be Dr. Russell Martin. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
