The Life of Bernice Savoy
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Bernice Hebert Savoy, 91, who died on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", and "Pie Jesu".
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Nancy Vallot of Lafayette, LA; one son, Rick Savoy and his wife, Linda of Mandeville, LA; one sister, Bella Picard of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Angela Savoy, John Savoy, Christine Vallot Bounds and her husband, Mark Bounds, and Christopher Vallot and his wife, Drue; and one great grandchild, Brooke Vallot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Savoy; her parents, Clarence and Edith Broussard Savoy; two brothers, Eddie and Emory Hebert; and one sister, Eula Hebert.
A native of Abbeville, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 70 years, Mrs. Savoy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Rick Savoy, John Savoy, Christopher Vallot and Mark Bounds.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 8:30 AM until time of services.
