The Life of Robert H. Semon

Robert Henry Semon, age 59, beloved son of Nellie Facchini Semon and the late Paul Semon, died February 21, 2012 at the West Haven VA Medical Center, surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with cancer. Robert was born on February 28, 1952, in Derby, and was a lifelong resident of Ansonia. He worked for many years alongside his father for Paul Semon and Sons Appliance Repair and was most recently employed with Shoprite of Derby. A U.S. Army Veteran, he had honorably served during Vietnam. Robert was a longtime member of the Slovak Club in Ansonia. In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by brothers, Wayne Seman (Annmarie) of Waterbury, Jeffrey Semon (Mary) of Plymouth and sisters Pamela D'Angelo (James) of Cheshire and Suzanne Hess (John) of Guilford; cherished nieces, Alicia and Desiree D'Angelo, Katianna Seman, Ashley and Lauren Hess and nephews John and Justin Hess. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. DeRosa, Dr. Rose, Courtney, Margo, Chauntay, Alicia and the entire staff that cared for him the past few months at the VA Medical Center and Yale Smilow Cancer Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Holy Rosary Church, Father Salemi Dr., Ansonia. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Family and friends may call on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
