The Life of HELEN RUTH TERRY
Helen R. Terry, 96, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines. She was born on February 9, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Lucy (Levell) Lake.
Helen attended North High School and worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 20 years, retiring in 1974. She attended Westover Baptist Church in Des Moines.
Helen is survived by her son, Don (Barbara) Terry, Jr,. of Johnston, IA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Phyllis Meredith and Marilyn Jean Houseman; brothers, Herbert, Kenneth, Wayne “Mike,” and Robert Lake; as well as her sister, Margaret Donahue.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at Westover Baptist Church, 2330 62nd Street in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Westover Baptist Church in loving memory of Helen.
