The Life of HELEN VIOLET MORRISON
Helen V. Morrison, 84, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, at the Carlisle Care Center.
Helen was born June 25, 1927, in Des Moines, the 13th of 14 children to George and Minnie (Hoffman) Virden. She retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center where she worked in the dietary dept. Helen had attended Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, being with her sisters, children and grandchildren. As a young adult, she enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Helen is survived by her son, Ron D. Morrison, II, of Lacona, Iowa; daughter, Karla (Jerry) Vasser of Menifee, California; her three grandchildren, all of which were born on the 24th of the month, Janessa (Mike) Bell, Ron D. Morrison, III and Jessica Vasser; three great-grandchildren, Mikey Bell, Marissa Bell and Sophia Bell; sister, Alice McCoun; and her brother, Kenny (Pat) Virden; She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Rose Virden, Jesse Virden, George Virden, Jr., Albert Virden, John Virden, Herman Virden, June Virden, Lillian Sims, Walter Virden, Norma Rabe, and Calvin Virden.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A private family burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
