The Life of Theodore Estwan

Theodore Estwan, Sr., age 75, entered into eternal rest suddenly on December 29, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (Maturo) Estwan and a proud, lifelong member of the Derby community. Theodore was born in Derby on February 18, 1936, son of the late Andrew Estwan; and the late Ann (Shpak) Estwan Peters and her husband Matthew. He had the distinction of serving his country in Germany during the Korean Conflict as a tank driver for the US Army. Theodore was employed as a General Foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1995 and also worked part-time in the Business Office at Griffin Hospital. A dedicated member of the Adriatic Marchegian Club, Theodore enjoyed attending the porchetta dinners. He also loved bowling, tanning, and spending time by the pool. He is the loving father of Theodore Estwan, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Derby, Mark Estwan and his fiancé Laura Joaquim of Shelton, Donna Burke and her husband Greg of Shelton; and the beloved grandfather of Teddy, Nicholas, Christopher, Mark, and Amanda Estwan, Megan and Ryan Burke. He is the caring brother of Andrew Estwan and his wife Lydia of West Haven and Monica Estwan of Ansonia. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Tuesday, his funeral will leave the funeral home at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Church, Derby. Burial with full military honors will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia
