The Life of Loretta Schiller

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for Loretta Broussard Schiller, 85, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at her residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.Reverend Monsignor Glen John Provost, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jason Pennington, organist, accompanied by Dan and Christopher Debaillon, soloists, will perform for the services, "Shepherd Me, O God", "Only In God", "On Eagles'' Wings", "Be Not Afraid", "I Am The Bread Of Life".Survivors include four daughters, Catherine A. Schiller of Lakewood, CO, Elaine S. Maguire of Lafayette, LA, Loretta S. Debaillon and her husband, Daniel of Houston, TX, and Jenifer L. Schiller of Lafayette, LA.;and one daugher in law, Deborah C. Schiller of Utica, OH.; seven grandchildren, Tori Wilson, Brian Schiller, Michael Schiller, Jennifer Nolan-Stinson, Andrew Nolan, Christopher Debaillon and Amy Debaillon; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Charlene Hebert and her husband, James P. of Lafayette, LAShe was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Nathan J. Schiller, Jr.; one son Robert N. Schiller; one brother, Elmer Broussard; and her parents, Raoul J. Broussard and Florence Overbeck Broussard.A native and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life, Mrs. Schiller was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She worked as an accountant for over forty years before retiring in 2004. Mrs. Schiller had many hobbies over the course of her lifetime, and enjoyed cooking throughout her life. One of her favorite projects was preparing a large variety of candies and cookies for her family and friends at Christmas time. She also prepared a large Sunday Dinner every week for family and adopted family. Mrs. Schiller cherished every moment she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will not only be missed by family and friends, but by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout the years.Pallbearers will be Taylor Rock, David Hebert, Stuart Hebert, Marcel Broussard, and Christopher Debaillon. Giftbearers will be Jamie Debaillon, Jennifer Nolan-Stinson, and Tori Wilson. Lector will be Amy Debaillon.A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 6:30 PM by Reverend Monsignor Glen John Provost, at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of services.Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Schiller''s name to Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston Street Suite 200 Lafayette, Louisiana 70503 or to a charity of one''s choice.
