The Life of Carl Frank Marsalis

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23,
2006, at Delhomme Funeral Home for Carl Frank Marsalis, 64, of
Northport, Ala. who died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at his residence.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Randy Fuller will be officiating.
He was a native of Sugar Land, Texas. After he graduated high school in
New Orleans, he served in the U.S. Air Force while obtaining his BS and
MBA. Upon discharge, he began a career in institutional food service.
He
also did a colorful stint as president of the Astrodome. During
retirement, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening and especially being
with his family. His greatest joy was his five grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Marsalis; daughters, Carla Ashbey, of
Lafayette, La., and Cheryl Bunch, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; daughter-in-law,
Sally Marsalis; son, Cary Matthew Marsalis, of Louisville, Texas;
sisters, Dolly Callaway, of Sugar Land, and Marjorie Ward, of Houston,
Texas; brother, Ira "Chip" Marsalis, of Harwood, Texas; parents, Ira
and
Margie Marsalis, of Richmond, Texas; and grandchildren, Andrew Ashbey,
Alexis Ashbey, Cooper, Carter and Tanner Bunch.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles, of Houston,
Texas.
Visitation will be observed from 11 a.m. Monday until time of service.
Honorary pallbearers will be everyone he had the privilege to call a
friend.
