The Life of Robert Anthony Rabalais Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Robert "Bobby" Anthony Rabalais, Jr., who passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. Giftbearers will be his children. Lectors will be Tony Rabalais and Destiny Matt. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "You Are Mine", "Psalm 23", "I Shall See You Soon Again", "Be Not Afraid" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" for the services. Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Spinella of Virginia and Destiny Matt and her husband Josh of Iowa, LA; two sons, Robert Anthony Rabalais, III of Lafayette and Herbert "Joey" Joseph Rabalais of Lafayette; four sisters, Pamela Johnson and her husband Wayne of Houston, TX, Cheryl Ford and her husband Jack of Scott, Brenda Gordon and her husband Scott of Houston, TX and Darlene Omar and her husband Adnan of Metairie; and one grandchild, Brylie Matt.He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anthony and Marguerite Barnes Rabalais.A native and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Robert "Bobby" Rabalais, Jr., was formerly employed by Dresser Industries and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He loved his dog "Shadow", who went everywhere with him. Bobby Rabalais was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.Pallbearers will be Robert Anthony Rabalais, III, Herbert "Joey" Joseph Rabalais, Josh Matt, David Savage, Jesse LeBlanc and Hector Uzcategui.A Rosary will be prayed by Brother Francis Fontenot, BCC on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 7:00 PM.The family requests that visitation be observed on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
