The Life of Joseph Roy LaBauve

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Joseph "J. Roy" LaBauve , age 75, who passed away on December 20, 2011 at Camelot of Broussard.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Wanda, Susan, Brittany and Brandy.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bernice Racca LaBauve; two daughters, Wanda Duhon and her husband, Greg Duhon and Susan James and her husband, Robert James; grandchildren, Shane Duhon, Shaun Duhon and his wife, Kelly Duhon; Joshua James, Brandy James and Brittany James; great grandchildren, Kevin Rizzuto, Lindsey Rizzuto, Ali Fowler, Autumn Lacey, Caiden Duhon, and Reed Duhon; two brothers, Issac LaBauve and Willis LaBauve, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis LaBauve, Sr. and the former, Olita Sonnier; one brother, Edwin LaBauve; and two sister-in-laws, Ona LaBauve and Barbara LaBauve.

Born on December 28, 1935 in Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. LaBauve was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all. Mr. LaBauve was a veteran of military service and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. J. Roy retired from Evangeline Motors after 40 years of service. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Camelot of Broussard, Hospice of Acadiana and Ocean''s Hospital for their exceptional love and compassionate care to Mr. LaBauve during his illness.

Pallbearers will be Shaun Duhon, Greg Duhon, Shane Duhon, Joshua James, Felix LaBauve and Willis LaBauve.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason LaBauve, Wayne LaBauve, Issac LaBauve, Robert Racca, Robert James, Charles Crenshaw, and Lee Roy Racca.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 5:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
