The Life of Pearl Marie Carmouche

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Church for Pearl "Melody" Carmouche, 87, who passed away on December 6, 2011 at 6:30 pm at Kindred Hospital.

Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Church , will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Carmouche, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Harland Hewitt and the former Alma Murrel. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was a member of "Come Lord Jesus" prayer group at Our Lady of Fatima Church, as well as many others through the years. She was a veteran of the United States Navy and was the owner and founder of Melody''s Tiny Tots School in Lafayette. During her career as a teacher, she taught music and enjoyed ceramics and doll making.

She is survived by three daughters, Tina LeBlanc of Lafayette, LA, Tama Romero of Kennesaw, GA, and Tessie Hoffpauir and husband Louis of Lafayette, LA; four sons, Michael Carmouche and wife Sue Ann of Louisville, KY, Eric Carmouche and wife Elena of Mittie, LA, Greg Carmouche and wife Tina of Fairbanks, AK, and Kevin Carmouche and wife Melanie of Scott, LA; fifteen grandchildren, Kallissa, Kerry, Kyle, and Katie LeBlanc, David Mitchell, Zach Romero, Nina, and Nathan Hoffpauir, Caitlin Carmouche, Elizabeth and Cynthia Carmouche, Lauren and Emily Scarmuzzi, Carlie, and Hailie Carmouche; two great grandchildren, Austin and Brenden Mitchell, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Philip Carmouche; one sister, Harlene Hewitt and one brother, Edmond "Bud" Hewitt.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of services.

Pallbearers will be Michael, Eric, and Greg Carmouche, Kerry and Kyle LeBlanc, Louis and Nathan Hoffpauir, and Bob Parker.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
