The Life of Adam Stuart Daniel

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Grace Presbyterian Church for Adam Stuart Daniel, 24, who passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Kennesaw, GA. Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, will conduct the services. Interment will take place at Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Adam, the son of Douglas V. Daniel of Wolfe City, TX and the former Margaret Hagen of Eau Claire, WI, was born and raised in Lafayette, LA. He graduated from Comeaux High School in 2002, where he lettered in varsity soccer. Adam was also a first-degree black belt in tae kwon do, a licensed scuba diver, and an avid backpacker. Adam was member of Grace Presbyterian Church and active in their youth programs. During the summers, he worked as a carpenter in Minneapolis, MN and was a licensed pharmacy technician in Lafayette, LA. He always had a smile on his face and willingly assisted anyone in need – whenever, wherever. In 2003, Adam enlisted in the U.S. Army, feeling a call to serve our nation after the tragic events of 9/11. Adam Stuart Daniel served honorably in the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2008 with the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, and 3rd Infantry Division rising to the rank of Sergeant. Adam’s service included two combat tours in Iraq as an infantry sniper. A dedicated and well respected soldier, Sergeant Daniel earned the following awards and decorations: Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Combat Infantrymen’s Badge, Parachutist’s Badge, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Distinctive Infantry Blue Shoulder Cord, and Expert Marksmanship Badge (rifle, grenade, and machine gun). Survivors include his parents; and one brother, Nathan Daniel and wife, Heather of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jason Daniel, paternal grandparents, Claude and Mozelle Daniel, and maternal grandparents, Harold and Genevieve Hagen. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Pallbearers will be the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Polk, LA. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Daniel; sister-in-law, Heather Daniel; cousins, Mark Hagen, Kelly Hagen Breedlove, Andrew Hagen, Chad Hagen, Ben Hagen, Eric Hagen, Heather Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Rebecca Hagen, Jacob Hagen, Kirsten Hagen, Derek Daniel, Dustin Daniel and Danielle Daniel.
