The Life of Troy Milton Watkins

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home for Troy Milton Watkins, 48, who passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Troy was born in Sioux City, Iowa and was a lifetime resident of Lafayette. Troy was the former owner of M & W Tank Construction Company of Lafayette, a company founded by his grandfather, Woodrow Milton Watkins, a man Troy admired and loved dearly.

 Troy was an avid motorcyclist, and pilot who enjoyed life to its fullest.

 Troy will be remembered as a loving and caring son, brother, husband, father, nephew and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

 Troy was the beloved father of Christopher Troy Milton Watkins and Ana’-Alicia Jenise Watkins, both of Lafayette, and the husband of Kelly Baker Watkins, of West Milton, Ohio.

 He is also survived by Janalice Duhon Duplechien, his former wife and the mother of his children, of Lafayette; his father Joseph Milton Watkins and his wife Patricia, of Slidell, Louisiana; loving sister Ann W. Mitchell and her husband Mark, of Pflugerville, Texas; brother Thomas Mitchell Watkins and his wife Corona, of Nancy, Kentucky; his aunt and uncle, Janise D. and Terry Watkins, of Conyers, Georgia; cousin Jamie Watkins and his wife Julie, of Loganville, Georgia; stepsister Wendi Smith Lloyd and her husband Dwayne, of Slidell, Louisiana, and the many friends who loved him.

 He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Ann Daigle Watkins and one brother, Todd Martin Watkins, both of Lafayette, La; grandparents Woodrow Milton and Josephine Y. Watkins, and George Daigle and the former Henrietta Senac, all of Lafayette.

 The family requests that visiting hours at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home be observed Saturday, April 12, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Troy’s family and friends Christopher Watkins, Terry Watkins, Tom Jordan, Brian Bell, Joel Bergeron, and Jamie Reber.

 Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne Lloyd and Mark Mitchell.
