The Life of Helen Gary
Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church for Helen Ewing Gary, 83, who passed away on July 15, 2011 at 9:50 AM at Magnolia Estates.
Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Gary, a resident of Broussard, LA, was the daughter of the late Anderson Ewing of Broussard , Louisiana and the former Noemi Simon of Kaplan, Louisiana. Helen was employed by Ducrest Drug Store in Broussard for over 35 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, going to the Casino, and playing cards with her friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Gary James of Cankton, LA, Cecile Gary Fruge, of Scott, LA, and Yvonne Gary Hoffpauir, of Broussard, LA; one son, Ralph E. Gary of Huntsville, AL., seven7 grandchildren Kevin Fruge, John James, Jennifer Dodge, Rebecca Marcantel, Amanda Billiingsley ,Robert Gary, and Ryan Gary, eight great grandchildren, Julia and Joshua James; Jacob, Caleb, Jessica, and Katie Dodge, Alexa and Grayson Marcantel, one sister, Lillian Simoneaux and one brother, Ray Ewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lanest Gary and sister, Margaret Guilbeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until service time. A rosary at will be recited Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John James, Kevin Fruge, Tory Marcantel, Gerald Fruge, Tommy Dodge, and Ralph Gary. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Wall and Danny Billingsley.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice and the care-givers at Magnolia Estates.
