The Life of Barbara Scarbrock

Bobbie was born in Elton, La. and reared in Church Point, LA. She is survived by her 3 children, Sharon Steen, Lafayette, Diane Gele, Austin, Tx, and Richard Scarbrock, San Antonio, Tx, Stephen Gele, son-in-law, Austin, Tx and Joy Scarbrock, daughter-in-law, San Antonio, Tx. She was the grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 6. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scarbrock, her father, L.J.V. Breaux, her mother, Sophie Prejean Breaux, two brothers, Paul Breaux and Louis (Joe) Breaux and a grandson, Benjamin Gele. Pallbearers are Richard Scarbrock, Stephen Gele, Andrew Scarbrock, Andrew Rust, Gary Scarbrock and Jason Johnston and Dwayne Brandy. Barbara dedicated her life to her husband and children and was a rare "stay at home" mom. She was community minded and served in various groups such as the Pineville Lioness Club, the Natchitoches Service League, the Lafayette Lioness Club, the L'Huere d'Amitie, Les Deux Douzaines, Acadian Hills Golf Association, the Lafayette Women's Golf Association and Oakbourne Country Club Women's Golf Association. Barbara was instrumental in helping to organize many golf tournaments for worthy causes. Barbara was an extraordinary care giver and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. "Let love and faithfulness never leave you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." Prov. 3:3 Funeral Services will be held at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 12:30 pm. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 10:00 am until service time. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 pm. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
