The Life of Gordon Edward Knuckles

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 12:00 PM in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette for Gordon Edward Knuckles, 89, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.. Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will officiate the graveside services. Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Maizie M. Knuckles of Lafayette; two daughters, Karon Moore and her husband, Emmett of Dallas and Debbie Link and her husband, Gerald of Lake Charles; two sons, Brian Knuckles of Lafayette and Paul Knuckles of Dallas; six grandchildren, Eric Link, Kelly Link, Kyle Link, Ryan Knuckles, Rachel Knuckles and Brian Knuckles; and five great grandchildren, Grace and Gabrielle Link-Gabbard, and Grayson, Bella and Maizie Link. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Paul and Ida Perkins Knuckles; two brothers; and one sister. A longtime resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Knuckles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3470.
