The Life of Dylan Clay Young

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011, at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Dylan Clay Young, age 15, who passed away on May 5, 2011 at the Texas Children''s Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Joyce Thomas. Eulogy will be given by Camille Young. Giftbearers will be Ann Birdsall and Jean Young. Jodi Bollich, soloist, accompanied by Kevin Martin, organist and Wil Green, trumpeter, will sing "And He Will Raise Him Up", "Be Not Afraid", "On Eagles'' Wings" and "This Little Light of Mine" for the services.

Survivors include his parents, Clay Young and Mary Gaidry Young and one sister, Camille Young, all of Sugar Land, Texas; his maternal grandparents, Pearl and John Gaidry of Lafayette, Louisiana and his paternal grandparents, Bessie and Irvin Young of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dylan was born on August 22, 1995 in Lafayette, Louisiana and for the last eight years was a resident of Sugar Land, Texas. Dylan was a student at Antoinette Reading Junior High School in Richmond, Texas. He loved the outdoors, to travel, and the beach. Dylan adored his family, his friends at school and especially his sister, Camille. Dylan touched many lives and everyone who knew him, loved him. He said so much without saying a word, speaking with his eyes and his handsome smile.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, John Gaidry and Eloy Granados.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 9:00 AM until time of service.

A heartfelt appreciation and expression of thanks from the Young family is extended to the Texas Children''s Hospital staff, Doctors, Nurses and Respiratory Therapists for the compassionate and excellent care given to Dylan during his hospital stay.
