The Life of Henry Otis Page
Henry Otis Page, 83, died Monday morning at his home after a lengthy illness.
The funeral will be at 11:00 am at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand on Thursday, October 20, 2011 with visitation on Wednesday, October 19 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am to service time on Thursday. Burial will be at Lafayette Memorial Park on Pinhook. Pastor Larry Langley will officiate.
Mr. Page was a native of Benson, LA. He has resided in Lafayette, LA since his retirement from the Army in 1972. He was a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Page loved his work, traveling, and being with his family.
Henry Page entered the U.S. Army on January 25, 1946 and retired as a Master Sergeant on January 31, 1972 after serving 26 years. After his retirement from the military, he established Page Wire Rope and Slings, Inc. Henry was owner and president of the family business until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marie Page of Lafayette; son, Don Page and wife Beth of Scott; two daughters, Kathy Page Laviolette and husband Glen Laviolette of Rayne and Carol Page of Church Point; two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Andrepont of Opelousas, LA and Helen Brooks of Tyler, TX ; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Hazel Page and one brother, A. B. Page, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Page, Jacob Page, Tyler Page, Mason Laviolette, Ben Folse, Glen Laviolette and Zack Green.
The family of Henry Page would like to express their great appreciation to his caretakers, Beverly Latiolais, Rose Bergeron and Teresa Meche for their dedication over the last 9 years. The family would also like to express thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for their help during Henry''s illness.
