The Life of Bennett Joseph Labbe

A funeral service of Christian burial will be held Monday, December 5, 2005 at11:00 AM  in the  La Chapelle de Martin & Castille, for Bennett J. "Ben" Labbe'' 53, who died Friday, December 2, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Keith Labove, Chaplain of The Heart Hospital of Lafayette and Women & Childrens Hospital, will be the Celebrant of the funeral service and will conduct the funeral services. Musical selections will be, Here I Am Lord, On Eagles Wings, Be Not Afraid, and You Are Near.Survivors include, his daughter Crystal Bodin and her husband Paul, his mother Mildred Mouton Labbe, five sisters, Margie Castille, Tessie Cooper and her husband, Ronnie, Louise Labbe, Anne McGraw and her husband, Harry, all of Lafayette and Janice Labbe of San Marcos, California. three brothers, Vincent Labbe, Kevin Labbe and David Labbe of Lafayette; good friend and companion Peggy Miller, aunts, uncles and many nieces, and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Labbe Jr,; one niece, Carrie Castille Garrett; his grandparents, Eugene Labbe Sr., and Blanche Girouard Labbe? and Oscar Mouton and Ondine Bourgeois Mouton; and his first spouse, Susan Labbe Thomas;Ben was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Lafayettefor most of his life.  Mr. Labbe loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was formerly employed by Marshalls Home & Garden Showplace until he became owner and operator of his own business.  He was a very dedicated hard worker and he was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be dearly missed by family and friends.A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday December 4, 2005 at 4:00 pm by St. Edmond Altar Society and 6:00 pm by Reverend Paul Thibodeaux.The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday, December 4, 2005 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm and Monday December 5, 2005 from 8:00 am until time of the funeral service.Pallbearers are Paul Bodin, Kevin Labbe, David Labbe, Ronnie Cooper, Cody Cooper, Harry McGraw, and Patrick Gaubert,.
