The Life of Bella Theresa Landry
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 14, 2010, at a 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Bella B. Landry, 76, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.Reverend M. Keith LaBove, Pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include her eight children, Richard Romero and his wife Linda, Johnny Romero and his wife Geneva, Michael Romero and his wife Donna, Clarence "Pearl" Romero and his wife Christine, Patrick Landry and his wife Vanessa; Joyce Hannie and her husband Mo, Lesa Arcement, David Landry and his wife Vikki; one step daughter, Ella Rose Fritz; twenty-two grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Bernice Bertrand, Beverly Bernard, JoAnn Case and Rose Baudoin; and one brother, Dallas Bower.She was preceded in death by first husband, Doris Pete Romero; second husband, Wilfred Alexander Landry; parents, Edgar and Louisette Short Bower; one son-in-law, Bryan Arcement; one brother, Russell Bower; and one sister, Mary Jane Bower. A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Bella Landry was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette. She was an avid Bingo and Bourré player, which she enjoyed with her lifelong friends, Maydel Dugas, Lucille Jacques and Cynthia Stewart.. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Pallbearers will be Johnny Romero, David Landry, Dallas Bower, Kevin Romero, Ryan Arcement and Kalem Romero.Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Romero, Clarence Romero, Danny Romero, Mo Hannie, Patrick Landry and Tracy Durley.Visitation was observed in Martin & Castille''s Downtown Lafayette location on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and will continue today, Thursday, from 7:00 AM until time of service.
