The Life of LO RENE ELIZABETH MASIMORE

LoRene Masimore, 96, died Sunday January 1, 2012 in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11 a.m at First Christian Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. She was born November 1, 1915 to Joseph Francis Tousley and Grace Emery Small. She graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, majoring in Home Economics. After graduating she met and married her husband Kenneth. They had one son, Ken, Jr. She worked as a secretary for many years at First Christian Church in Des Moines. She was very active in church activities. She was an active member of the PTA's at Kirkwood Elementary, Washington Irving Junior High and North High School allowing her to keep a close eye on Kenny. LoRene volunteered at Ramsey Memorial Home and was a member of the Ramsey Guild. She was a great quilter and was a member of the Quilters club at First Christian Church. Many people are happy recipients of her beautiful quilts. LoRene was a very happy person. She found love and friendship in everyone she met, always seeing the world in bloom and a sky at blue. Her world was a "Wonderful World" and she would make you a part of it. Survivors include her son Kenneth Lee Masimore, Jr. (Gerry Wade) of Omaha, her grandchildren, Kristin Lynn Moore of Omaha and Kimberly Leigh Anderson ("Rodney") of Omaha, 5 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Francis, Steven, and Pershing, and husband Kenneth. Memorials may be directed to the Essential Tremor Foundation P.O.
