The Life of VIRGINIA MARIE GOIN
Virginia Goin, 75, passed Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She was born September 3, 1936, in Des Moines, to Rudolph and Bessie Peterson. After the sudden death of Rudolph, Bessie remarried to Elner C. Hunziker,
who helped raise Ginny.
She enjoyed crafts, holiday lights, margaritas, country music, her pretties “knickknacks” and especially her grandchildren.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Donald; sons, Michael (Karen) Pewick and Curtiss Pewick; daughter, Melinda (Larry) Ginger; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Duane and Daryl Hunziker; sisters, Dixie Kimrey, Donna Choate, Kathleen Kern and Allaire George. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Hunziker; and sisters, Marjorie Vernon and Darlene Haberkorn.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2011, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Ginny.
