The Life of FRANCES JUNE GRAVES OLSON

Frances June (Graves) Olson, 85 of Ankeny passed away peacefully Saturday at Sunny View care center in Ankeny, Iowa. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Fran was born to Helene and Jim Graves in Lamoni, Iowa, June 1, 1926. She graduated from Webster City High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. Fran married Herb Olson in 1946 and was married for 65 years. They had two daughters Kathryn and Susan. Fran worked downtown for JC Penney’s and volunteered for Broadlawns Hospital. Fran was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed taking care of others and making sure everyone was safe. She collected angels, read autobiographies & soap digest, loved family gatherings, and enjoyed vacationing to Minnesota and Colorado. Fran’s favorite quote was, “Put a little lipstick on and you’ll be fine.” Her pink lips and smile will be missed. She is survived by daughters Kathryn Arts and Susan Zeroni; 4 granddaughters; 8 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Herb; sisters Loudine Arnold & Dixie Ralston; son-in-law Dale Arts; and grandson Kyle Zeroni. We would like to thank Sunny View Care Center for the care they gave Fran this past year.
