The Life of PATRICIA LOU DOYLE

Patricia L. Doyle, 79, passed away December 11, 2011, at Kavanagh on 56th Street, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Patricia was born November 22, 1932 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to William and Violet Selby. She had lived in the Des Moines area for 50 years and retired from teaching in 1995. Patricia was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church. Patricia is survived by her daughters, Marta Hawkins and Karen Doyle; sons, Dan(Jodi)Doyle and Mark(Nancy)Doyle; sister, Nellie Lou Meyer; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and sisters, Wilma Jean Perkins and La Vera Simpson. As in life, Patricia will continue to teach through her death as she had chosen to be a part of the Anatomical Gift program at Des Moines University. A Casual Meet and Greet, including a light snack, will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 4126 Ingersoll Avenue, Waveland Hall. In keeping with Patricia’s lifelong journaling passion, please bring a memory to add to her storybook.
