The Life of Ms. Chansay Vann Tinn

Chansay V. Tinn, age 87, of Trumbull, passed away March 16, 2021 in Hartford Hospital. She was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she was a prominent French professor and community leader. She courageously moved to America, as a single mother of 6, where she reestablished herself as an influential bilingual teacher. She utilized her various skills and talents to help establish a very successful family drapery business. She was a devoted Christian and then Buddhist and always gave back to her community, whether it be donations or other types of support. Ms. Tinn was predeceased by her husband Narin Vann and her granddaughter, Linna Vann. She is survived by her devoted children Noren Vann Degnan and her husband John Degnan, Norak (Mike) Vann and his wife Lonni Vann, Noroth Vann and his wife Vanny Samnang Vann, Tom Vann, Vathana (Titi) Vann, and Chansophorn V. Holjes and her husband Paul W. Holjes, her loving grandchildren: Michelle Vann, Sambo Vann and his wife  Naomi Vann, Sokuntheary Vann and her fiancee Connor Walsh, Kayla V. Holjes and Sarah L. Holjes and her cherished great grandchildren, Gabriella Lustgarten, Quintinn Vann, Zolla Vann, and Ava Linna Walsh

Friends may attend a walk-through-wake on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 4-7 p.m at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Christian prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Masks are required. Please practice social distancing guidelines.

Friends and family are invited to attend her Buddhist funeral services on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Interment to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Bronson Rd. Fairfield, CT.
