The Life of Virginia Ferriolo Burleigh

Virginia Burleigh, age 81, wife of the late Walter Burleigh and resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest Nov. 20. She was born August 24, 1930 in New Haven, daughter of the late Charles and Helen Ferriolo. She retired from Sikorsky Aircraft of Stratford after 40 years, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ansonia. She leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters, Geraldine Toler of Naugatuck, Diane Mancini of Ansonia, with whom she resided, Cheryl Gillick of Seymour and Patricia Morissette of Ansonia, four brothers, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Linda DeAngelis & Gail Puro, granddaughter Allison Mancini-Hlavna and grandson Lawrence DeAngelis. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with friends asked to go directly to The First United Methodist Church, on 47 Franklin St. Ansonia. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
