The Life of William Choser

William S. Choser, age 79, beloved husband of Rose Briganti Choser of Ansonia, died October 11, 2011 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on January 11, 1932, he was the son of the late William S. and Helen M. Gajdosik Choser. Mr. Choser was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Choser worked as a manufacturing engineer for the Sikorsky Co. for many years, retiring in 1980. Following his retirement, he then worked for the Butler International Co. for 20 years, retiring in 2010. He was a passionate horseshoe competitor, playing in several leagues and tournament through the years. Mr. Choser served as a Past President and Secretary of the CT Horseshoe Pitchers Assoc., a member of the Moose Lodge # 289 Bridgeport, and the American Legion #16, Sutter-Terlizzi Post, Shelton. He also enjoyed golf and bowling was recognized by the American Bowling Congress of having bowled a 300 pin, perfect game. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father. In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by his children, Wendy Rose (Edward Sargent) Choser of Preston, Lorraine (Paul) Nott of Dayville, Karen (Wayne) Bartolotta of Middletown, Linda (Stefone) Choser-Pettis of Mo., and Wayne R. (Marianne) Choser of Seymour; a brother, Robert F. (Yolanda) Choser of FL; as well as 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment with military honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
