The Life of AVIS LEONA DULLARD
Avis L. Dullard, 71, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Bright Kavanagh House.
Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel where the family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Avis was born in Lamoni, IA on May 16, 1940 to William and Callia Wimer and graduated from high school there. She moved to Des Moines at age 21 where she and her former husband, Harry Dullard, owned Skelly’s Gas Station in downtown Des Moines. More recently Avis worked as manager of the Randolph Hotel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia.
Avis is survived by her son, Michael (Judy) Dullard; granddaughter, Tracy White; and great grandson, Michael O’Bryan all of Des Moines as well as many friends.
