The Life of VICKI LEE CHRISTENSEN
Vicki Lee Christensen, 60, passed away September 3, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a brief but courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born February 1, 1951 in Des Moines to Ralph and Dorothy Horn. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area and worked for Finish Binders until her retirement in 2011.
Vicki loved spending time with her family, camping with her grandchildren, boating, motorcycling, and drag racing. She was an inspiration and will be truly missed by everyone.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Steve; children, Lynnette (David) Azcarraga and Brian (Heather) Christensen; parents, Ralph and Dorothy Horn; sisters, Kathy Young and Cindy Rinehart; and grandchildren, Sabrina and Arianna Azcarraga, and Ripley, Nova, and Josie Christensen.
Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, and a 5:30 to 8 p.m. Celebration of Life gathering at UAW 450 Hall, 4589 NW 6th Drive, Des Moines, IA 50313.
