The Life of VIRGINIA SUE ELLIOTT
Virginia “Sue” Elliott was born on March 2, 1956, to Bud and Doris Elliott. She passed away on Saturday morning, September 3, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Sue started working for S.S. Kresges Company in 1974. When Kresges closed, she began working at K-Mart on the eastside. In 2000, she went to work for Wells Fargo until a hip injury forced her to retire.
Sue is survived by her loving mother, Doris Elliott; two sisters, Bobbi Jo (Thomas) Yaw and Kathy Elliott, both of Des Moines; her loving nephew, Michael (Jessica) Yaw; her loving cat, Cinnamon; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the many who loved her enough to call her Aunt Susie. She is preceded in death by her father, Bud Elliott; grandparents, Howard and Lillian Elliott and Paul and Mary Allen; and her nephew, Kenneth Yaw.
All services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m.
The family requests all memorial contributions are made to the Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, 3992 NE 46th Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50317, in loving memory of Sue.
