The Life of MARY ELIZABETH BYERLY
Mary Elizabeth Byerly, 88, passed away September 1, 2011, at her home in Des Moines. She was born May 23, 1923, to Earl and Edith Sales in Centerville, Iowa. Mary worked as a secretary for the State of Iowa for many years and enjoyed knitting.
Mary is survived by her sons, Dennis (Cindy) Byerly of Winona, Minnesota and Mike Byerly of Kingwood, Texas; six grandchildren, Lora McGuire, Ryan Michael Byerly, Kellee Ranallo, Ryan Scott Byerly, Bryce Byerly, and Brenna Byerly; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Byerly, Austin Elder and Aiyana Hanson; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mary.
