The Life of Elizabeth J Murphy

ELIZABETH J. MURPHY GIRARD – Private funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel for Elizabeth J. Murphy, 75, who died early Friday morning at her residence with her husband by her side after a year long battle with cancer. She was born March 20, 1935, in Centerville, Del., a daughter of Samuel D. and Helen (Boothby) Glazier. She spent her adult life as a homemeaker raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching NASCAR and going to Mountaineer and Wheeling Downs. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 57 years, Joseph L. Murphy, whom she married Oct. 15, 1953; three sons, Joseph Murphy Jr. of New Jersey, John (Mary) Murphy of McDonald and James Murphy of Niles; two daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Chirozzi of Warren and Elizabeth (Gary) Horton of Michigan; two brothers, Robert Glazier of Delaware and Richard Glazier of Oklahoma; two sisters, Jean Williamson of Clearwater, Fla. and Phyllis Epp of Branson, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wiliam Glazier and Edward Kope; and a sister, Janis. There are no calling hours
