The Life of Mary Frances Hupp
MARY FRANCES HUPP RICHMOND, VA. – Mary Frances Hupp, 89, formerly of Austintown, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at The Lynmoore Assisted Living Center in Henrico, Va. Mrs. Hupp was born on Aug. 29, 1921, in Salem, the daughter of the late Richard W. and Mary A. (Kenreich) Hilgendorf. She graduated from Salem High School and was a graduate of Valparaiso University, Ind. Mrs. Hupp lived in Forest Hill, Md., for 33 years, moving to Austintown in 1998. Early on in life, Mrs. Hupp was a grade school teacher for one year in Florida and one year in Chicago. The majority of her life was lived as a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Mrs. Hupp was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown and was a member of its Bible Study group and played in the Bell Choir. While living in Forest Hill, Mrs. Hupp was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bel Air, Md., and subsequently Advent Lutheran Church, Forest Hill, Md. In both churches she taught Sunday school, sang in the voice choirs and played in the bell choirs. She also enjoyed quilting and participated in quilting groups at all three churches. Mrs. Hupp is survived by her husband, Harold E. Hupp, whom she married on July 14, 1956; two children, Bonnie Jean (Joseph) Kovacs of Glen Allen, Va., and Robert Harold (Jennifer) Hupp of Lusby, Md.; and two grandchildren, Miles and Perrin. Besides her parents, Mrs. Hupp was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Hilgendorf. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, OH 44515, with Pastor Karl Rein officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2011, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Mrs. Hupp’s name to the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
