The Life of DWIGHT H PEARSON

Dwight H. Pearson, 78, of Mill-Pond Heath Care Center in Ankeny died of a respiratory ailment Sunday at Hospice Kavanagh House.  The body was cremated, and services will be at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny, of which he was a member.

Mr. Pearson was born in Monroe, NE, and had lived in Dedar Falls before moving to Ankeny 11 years ago.  He had worked for Deere & Co. in Waterloo and was an Army veteran of World War II, when he was a prisoner of war and had received two Purple Hearts.  He enjoyed woodworking, golfing and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith; a daughter, Carol Williams of Ankeny; two brothers, Harold of Grand Island, NE, and C. Bernard of Omaha; two sisters, Margaret Schroeder of Grand Island and Bettie Dennison of West St. Paul, MN; and a grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.  Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
