The Life of ALBERT LEE REAMS JR.

Al Reams Jr., 77, of the 1100 block of Northwest Maple Street in Ankeny died of complications of a blood ailment Sunday at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester, MN.  Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mr. Reams was born in Detroit and had lived in Des Moines most of his life before moving to Ankeny 15 years ago.  He spent his winters in Texas.  He had owned and operated Al Reams-Construction Co. before retiring and was a member of the Ankeny Home Builders Association, Elks Lodge and American Legion.  He enjoyed golfing and family activities.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; four sons, Michael of West Des Moines, and Richard, Tim and Jim, all of Ankeny; a daughter, Kathy McKee of Northville, MI; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children''s Hospital in Minneapolis.
