The Life of JULIAANN STANLEY

Juliaann Vaughn Stanley, 65, died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Juliaann was born on March 16, 1941 in Des Moines. She was a graduate of East High School and Hamilton College. Juliaann went on to work for a short time at Iowa Power in billing then went to work at Blue Cross of Iowa and then to Cahaba working in Medicare adjustments. Juliaann was a member of Goodtimers Country Western Dance Club, The LeRoy Stanley Thurs Mix and LeRoy Stanley Men leagues. She also was a member of Unity Lutheran Church where she served on the church council. Juliaann had many interest in life, the outdoors, camping, fishing or just watching wildlife. She had a love for NASCAR racing. Juliaann also was known for being a book worm and later took up the hobby of scrap booking. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ryan-Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Francis Vaughn, her beloved husband, LeRoy Stanley “PaPa Bear” and one sister, Virginia-Rae Marteneau. Juliaann is survived by her beloved and cherished son, Ron (Candace) Stanley, two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ryan-Lee, and one brother, Roy-Eugene Vaughn. A memorial has been established for the future education of Elizabeth and Ryan-Lee.
