The Life of ALPHA MARTINE THOMAS
Alpha M. Thomas, 84, of Urbandale Health Care Center, 4614 NW 84th St., died of a heart ailment Saturday at Charter Community Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Minnesota, and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John''s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four sons, John Campbell of Mitchellville, James Campbell and Richard Campbell, both of Des Moines, and Joseph Campbell of Bondurant; four step-daughters, Betty Haviland of West Des Moines, Dorothy Johnson of Des Moines, Mary Campbell of Omaha, Neb., and Helen King of Salem, OR; a sister, Elsie Grieger of Muscatine; 15 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
