The Life of JOSEPH LOREN BARNES
Graveside services for Joseph L Barnes, 80, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Des Moines, will be at 11 am Tuesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Barnes died of a stroke Thursday at Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis after a three-week illness.
A retired self-employed civil and electrical engineer, he was born in Des Moines and lived here until moving to Indianapolis 30 years ago. He was a 50-year member of both the Home Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 60, and a member of Des Moines Consistory and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, all in Des Moines. He was a World War I veteran.
He is srvived by a sister, Mrs. Faun B Palmer of Indianapolis. The body is at Hamilton's Funeral Home.
