The Life of VIOLET N WINTERS

Violet N. Winters, 79, of Elsie Mason Manor, 430 Grand Ave., died of a heart ailment there Wednesday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Winters was born in Kansas City, MO, and had lived in Des Moines 40 years. She was a retired deputy local registar for Polk County Health Department and a member of Fort Des Moines Historical Society, Baldwin-Patterson American Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Mothers, Gold Star Monument Society and Iowa League of Women Voters. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Morelock of Des Moines; a son, Charley Winters, Jr. of Melbourne; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Baldwin-Patterson American Legion Post.>>
