The Life of LEONA M RUNNING
Leona M Running, 84, a former Des Moines resident, died Sunday at the Granger Manor where she was living.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Merle Hay Chapel. The body ws cremated, and burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Running was born in Berwick and lived in Des Moines 70 years before moving to the manor in Granger. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star, and she was a past president of Women''s Chamber of Commerce and American Legion Auxiliary units. She was a retired employee of the Rock Island Lines.
Survivors include two sons, Donald of Des Moines and Richard of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Lawrence Piper of Houston, TX; two sisters, Ruth Knox and Louise Voshell, both of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
