The Life of DIXIE L ALLGOOD

Dixie Allgood, 57, of the 6900 block of Northeast Halbrook Lane in Ankeny died of cancer Thursday at Mercy Medical Center.  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady''s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Ankeny, of which she was a member.  Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Mrs. Allgood was born in Gilman and had lived in Des Moines and Grinnell before moving to Ankeny in 1967.  She was a child-care provider for her grandchildren and had worked for the Ankeny school lunch program.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting.

She is survied by three sons, Doug, Denny and Mark, all of Ankeny; her mother, Clara Walker of Gilman; three sisters, Mary Bailey of Grinnell, Deanna Kacer of Cincinnati and Peggy Ronk of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Ted Walker and Craig Walker, both of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
