The Life of STANLEY RICHARD OLINE

Stanley Richard Oline, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at the age of 78. Services will be 12 p.m. Friday, November 26 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, prior to the services. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.

Stanley was born in Shenandoah, Iowa and graduated from North High School in 1943. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy. As a Petty Officer in WWII, his ship, the USS Detroit, was among the fleet on hand when the Japanese surrendered to end the war in 1945. After the Navy, he became a professional photographer and owned Lawson''''s Highland Park Photography Studio, which he started in 1947.

Stanley was a past historian and lifetime member of the Americna Legion Post 374. He was a member of the Forty and Eight and the Highland Park Businessmen''s Club. Stan loved to fish and research geneology.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Oline of Ankeny; three sons, Gregory Richard Oline of Rickreall, OR; Martin Lawson Oline of Des Moines and Marvin Paul Oline of Des Moines; two daughters, Rhonda Nyman of Ankeny and Deb Crane of Johnston; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sisters, Phyllis and Denise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, F.R. and Cecil Lawson Oline.
