The Life of SYLVIA V KNUTSON
Sylvia V Knutson, 80, of 3300 SW 12th St. died Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, where she had undergone surgery for a hip ailment. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens cemetery.
Mrs. Knutson was born in Webb and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired in 1982 from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and for merly worked for her late husband's dental practice. She was a member of Order of the Easter Starr, TTT and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen King of Des Moines; two sisters, Betty Christiansen of Des Moines and Mary Sutton of Creston; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Dunn's Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
