The Life of LYLE H KELLAR

Lyle H. Kellar, 61, of Saylorville, died from complications of cancer Saturday, July 16. 1988 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, July 19, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Lyle was born in Martensdale, Iowa to Harvey and Eula Kellar December 4, 1926 and lived in the Des Moines area most of his life, except for four years near Van Meter, Iowa. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 9, 1948, he was united in marriage to Janeece A Kipper in Ada, Minnesota. From this union, they had two children, Patricia Ann, and Larry Lee. Lyle was a member of the National Rifle Association and a life member and past Post Commander of the Beaverdale Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9127. He retired in 1977 as owner of Kellar Excavating and Grading, Inc. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janeece, daughter Patricia Lee of Bondurant, a son, Larry of Polk City, grandchildren Corey and Nicole Barnett, Staci and Lori Kellar, step grandchildren Mark and Mike Lee, a sister, Dorothy Hibbs and Mother-in-law Marie Kipper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula and Harvey Kellar, two brothers, Wayne and Don Kellar, and a sister, Eloise Morrow. Friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Monday, July 18, 1988 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saylorville Volunteer Fire Department.
